Advocacy gamification allows Advocates to participate in contests and competitions to earn points when carrying out specific actions on the Advocacy Board. This can increase the engagement and activity of your Advocates.
How To Enable The Leaderboard
You will need to be a Click Social admin to turn on Leaderboards. To enable the Leaderboard:
- Go to the Advocacy tab, choose the relevant Board and click on Settings.
- In Settings, toggle on Leaderboard to enable the Leaderboard tab.
Enabling Points-Based Gamification was a temporary setting. Points-Based Gamification has been enabled for all boards that have enabled the Leaderboard as of June 30th 2024.
How To Manage Points
Advocates can earn points through Advocacy Gamification in two ways: by engaging with Board Actions or through Network Events.
Admins can assign a distinct point value to reward Advocates for specific actions or events. For actions, they can also assign limits on how many actions will be eligible to earn points in a selected duration. Note that a limit of 0 does not mean limitless, it will simply not be counted in that case.
Note that it can take up to 24 hours for network events to be logged, and content shared to personal profiles on Facebook and Instagram cannot be tracked and therefore will not be awarded points due to API limitations.
Enabling Custom Content will make content created by Champion Roles and other Advocate Roles with permission to create their own content eligible for points.
How To Manage Leaderboards
Once you've enabled Leaderboards in Settings, a new tab in the Advocacy Board will appear called Leaderboards.
There will be a Leaderboard called "All Advocates" containing all of the Board Advocates by default, but you can edit this Leaderboard and add additional Leaderboards.
To set up a new Leaderboard:
- In the Leaderboards tab click on New Leaderboard.
- Update the following fields in the side panel then click Add Leaderboard:
- Name: The name of the Leaderboard.
- Duration: The default time period for Advocates to see their performance and engage in friendly competition (this can be monthly, weekly, or quarterly).
- Advocate Fields: Advocates assigned to these fields will have access to the Leaderboard.
- Name: The name of the Leaderboard.
How To View And Export Leaderboards
Click on the name of the Leaderboard to see a view of the Leaderboard as it appears to Advocates. You can search for Advocates by name or filter by date. Clicking on the name of an Advocate will show you the breakdown of the accumulated points earned for actions and events.
Use the export button to export your Leaderboard to a CSV file, or the top 10 Advocates to a PDF file.
How To Disable The Leaderboard
Although Advocacy Gamification is designed to encourage friendly competition among Advocates, some organizations may choose to disable it. To disable the Leaderboard for a specific Board, simply head over to the Advocacy tab, choose the relevant Board, open the Board's Settings tab and, under the Leaderboards section, turn it off.
